Comparing numbers using playing cards

Practicing Skip Counting found this great idea here

 Skip Counting

Adding a twist- blank cups to figure out the next number in the pattern. This really helped them solidify the concept of skip counting patterns. (Number path can be used for scaffolding)

Students label the blank cup with the missing number using a dry erase marker.

This is a fantastic idea from Acts of Teaching How to Teach Writing by Joyce Armstrong Carroll (page 106)- the book we used in Ali 2 (Abydos). It give the kids a fantastic CONCRETE example of how things just don't fit together. A great way to lead into subject-verb agreement. :) 

I want to thank our wonderful parents once again for putting smiles on all these faces. There is nothing better than seeing these kiddos smile after a long day of 6 weeks tests. Thank you for all the time and effort you all put into making our Valentines party so special! :) I appreciate it and I heard the kids say over & over, "This is the best Valentines party EVER!"
